Youtube roped in HSBC as the main sponsor for the IPL. Now it seems the laundry list of sponsors just grew by half a dozen. Leading the line-up of Premium sponsors are Royal Challenger’s IPL team, HSBC India, and HP India. Among other top brands taking the sponsorship slots include Airtel, Coca Cola and Samsung.

Google has announced the list of sponsors now for its first main sports event which will be streamed live on YouTube. Royal Challengers IPL Team, HSBC India & HP India will be the premium sponsors along with some other big names like Airtel, Coca Cola and Samsung who have also taken the key sponsorship slots.

Sponsors’ ads will appear throughout the 60-match tournament, across several ad formats, including pre-roll and mid-roll ads, YouTube homepage ads and banner ads next to the Live player and on video watch pages.

IPL spots on youtube have been sold in slots of normal matches and the semi final and final matches. For the final match Royal Challenger’s IPL team will take the spot light and HSBC India and HP India will cover the semi-finals. Ads from sponsors will appear in all countries where YouTube is available except the United Kingdom.

Google has also launched an IPL branded Orkut community page which will also host team and player interviews, contests and match polls to engage fans and audiences. The sponsor ads will also get featured on the pages as well.

Stanford handled Arizona State all night, beating the Sun Devils 70-61 in the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 tournament. That means the Washington/Oregon State winner will face Stanford Friday night at 8:30.

On March 10, 2010, Corey Haim was taken to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, and pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. (10:15 UTC) Los Angeles police said that Haim's death appeared to be accidental and may have been due to an overdose, but that no illicit drugs were found at the scene.

Corey Haim, a 1980s teen heartthrob whose career was blighted by drug abuse, has died. He was 38. Haim died at Providence St Joseph Medical Centre in Burbank yesterday, Los Angeles County coroner's Lt Cheryl MacWillie said.

"As he got out of bed, he felt a little weak and went down to the floor on his knees," Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said. His mother called paramedics. An autopsy will determine cause of death. There was no evidence of foul play, police Sgt Michael Kammert said.

Haim was never married. He was once engaged to actress Nicole Eggert.he collaborated numerous times with Corey Feldman, the pair being dubbed "The Two Coreys". Haim and Feldman starred in a TV reality show titled The Two Coreys,which aired on the A&E Network from July 2007 to August 2008.

"This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family and best friend," he said in a statement. "I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived," Feldman said.

The government on Sunday expressed the hope that the Women's Reservation Bill, 2008 would be passed in the current session of Parliament despite opposition from some political parties.Several women MPs blamed the "absolutely disastrous" floor management for the pandemonium in Rajya Sabha which led to the Women's Reservation Bill being derailed.

BJP MP Najma Heptullah said the responsibility lies with the Parliamentary Affairs Minister and the whips. "They should have ensured floor management...The floor management was absolutely disastrous," she said.

Sarah Palin appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday, delivering a round of stand-up comedy while praising the Tea Party and Fox News Channel.The gaffe-prone former Republican vice presidential nominee appeared more than willing to poke fun at herself during her late-night debut on the legendary US program.

Leno asked Palin what she thinks about joining the media by becoming a Fox News analyst. Palin told Leno that she's there to build trust in the media. "I think that the mainstream media is quite broken and I think that there needs to be the fairness, the balance in there. That's why I joined Fox." Leno laughed.

Teased by Leno about a recent incident in which she was spotted looking at notes written on her palm during a speech in Nashville, Palin quipped that it was a "poor boy's version of the teleprompter."She then pledging to continue doing it, "just to get the Left wee-weed up and get their heads spinning."

But there was no call for notes when she took to the stage for a stint of stand-up comedy on the show - in a parody of Leno's famous opening monologues.

After Palin told Leno that her dream used to be to become a sportscaster, “to work with Howard Cosell” (man, would I love to have seen the late, great Cosell trade remarks in a sports booth), he invited her to do a little stand-up comedy.

Pfizer Inc. and Medivation Inc. said Dimebon, their experimental drug for Alzheimer’s disease, failed to benefit patients in an advanced study.Recently dimebolin has attracted renewed interest after being shown to have positive effects on persons suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

The trial, dubbed Connection, included almost 600 patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease from across the U.S., Europe and South America. The results counter a small, earlier study conducted in Russia that found patients getting Dimebon improved across five areas, including thinking, memory, activities of daily living, behavior and overall function.

The negative results for Dimebon, a 27-year-old hay fever treatment, are the latest setback in efforts to find a way to slow the most common form of dementia in elderly people. It could have generated more than $5 billion in annual sales if it proved effective, said Raghuram Selvaraju, head of health-care research at Hapoalim Securities USA Inc., in New York.

Earlier, Dimebolin is an orally-active small molecule compound that has been shown to inhibit brain cell death in preclinical studies of Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease, making it a potential treatment for these and other neurodegenerative diseases. Research suggests that it may also have cognition-enhancing effects in healthy individuals, in the absence of neurodegenerative disease pathology.

“We are surprised and disappointed,” said David Hung, chief executive officer of San Francisco-based Medivation, in a telephone interview. “We’re trying to figure out what happened in the study and decide how to move forward. This is obviously one battle in our war against Alzheimer’s disease.”

HSBC Bank Australia saw its annual 2009 pre-tax profit jump by 25 per cent to $251 million despite a halving of profits from its commercial banking arm.Chief executive Paulo Maia said: "These results can be attributed to ... Come March 1, a home appliance version of the stimulus program that provided cash to car-buyers trading in their old models is scheduled to start.The Iowa and Minnesota appliance rebates program starting at 8 am on Monday, 1 March 2010; but the callers and internet users are already reporting some difficulty getting the state’s rebate system.

The rebate program is planned to help buy an energy-efficient home appliance; only appliances with an Energy Star rating buy on or after March 1, 2010 meet the criteria for the rebate.

Designed to save consumers money for buying energy-efficient clothes washers, dishwashers, freezers and refrigerators, nearly $5 million in federal stimulus funding is designed to help Minnesota households save up to $200 for replacing their aging appliance with a qualifying Energy Star model.

The Xcel Energy’s Program Manager said, “Our goal is to improve energy efficiency in our service territory and make it really easy for customers to get rid of their old appliances”, he further added, and “The cheapest energy out there is the energy we don’t have to produce; using less helps all of us lower our bills and put money back in our pockets”.
