Just two days after scoring the gold-medal-winning goal for Canada against the United States, Crosby will take the ice Tuesday night for the Penguins against the Buffalo Sabres.

Crosby’s team expects nothing less than a rousing ovation for him and the rest of the Penguins’ Olympians: Sergei Gonchar and Evgeni Malkin of Russia, Brooks Orpik of the United States, and Marc-Andre Fleury of Canada.

Crosby was named to Team Canada on December 30, 2009, as an alternate captain for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.He scored the game-winning shootout goal for Canada in the second game of the preliminary round against Switzerland.

After going pointless in the quarter- and semi-final against Russia and Slovakia, respectively, Crosby scored the gold medal winning goal in overtime against the United States.The gold medal was Canada's 14th at the 2010 Winter Olympics overall, setting a record for most gold medals by a country in one Winter Olympics.
